Jobs that may align with GKR
Potential fits include palletised components, engineering supplies, spare parts, fabricated products, workshop equipment and machinery moving between commercial sites. GKR’s east–west emphasis may be relevant where freight travels between Western Australia, South Australia and eastern states.
Personal effects and general household removals are not the profile described by GKR. Businesses sending mixed private belongings should not disguise them as commercial freight; contents must be declared truthfully so an eligible alternative can be assessed.
Define machinery as a handling unit
A machine name does not explain how it can be moved. Provide the packed dimensions, gross weight, base footprint, centre of gravity and approved lifting points. State whether the equipment is crated, bolted to a skid, strapped to a pallet or travelling on a stable engineered base.
Protect controls, guards, hoses and projections. Lock or brace movable assemblies. Drain or contain fluids as required, isolate energy sources where appropriate and declare batteries, gases, chemicals or dangerous goods. If the unit cannot have freight placed above it, mark it non-stackable in the quote.
Prepare pallets for an east–west linehaul
Use a pallet capable of carrying the load without broken boards or insufficient fork clearance. Keep all freight within the footprint, use corner protection and select restraint suited to the load’s mass and shape. A neat outer wrap does not compensate for an unsecured heavy component underneath.
For multiple pallets, record each one separately. Different heights, weights and stackability affect the occupied space and may change the service result.
Information required to compare GKR
- collection and delivery postcodes and complete site addresses;
- piece count and whether each item is palletised, skidded, crated or loose;
- final dimensions and weight of every handling unit;
- specific commodity and industry use;
- stackability, lifting points and centre-of-gravity concerns;
- dangerous-goods, fluid and battery information;
- forklift or loading-dock availability at both ends;
- vehicle access, inductions and booking requirements; and
- the delivery deadline and receiving hours.
Industrial sites need operational detail
Mining suppliers, workshops and factories can have controlled gates, limited unloading times and PPE or induction rules. Provide those requirements before the carrier arrives. If the receiver needs a crane, escort, specialised placement or installation, that is a separate requirement and must be assessed rather than assumed.
Confirm who is authorised to accept the freight. A phone number for a person who is not on site will not resolve a blocked delivery.
Allow for a long transport corridor
East–west freight travels a substantial distance and may pass through multiple operational stages. Use the current estimate for the exact route and leave contingency for stock launches, shutdowns or repair work. Do not convert an indicative window into a guaranteed date when communicating with your customer.
Support when freight needs attention
Keep labels, consignment references, photographs and a packing list tied to the order. If tracking needs investigation or the receiver reports a discrepancy, contact Clever Couriers with the last event, complete piece count and site contact. For damage, preserve the packaging and record the condition before the freight is altered.
Why another carrier may be compared

Consolidate only when the combined unit is stable
Several industrial components can be shipped on one pallet when the base, restraint and weight distribution are suitable. Do not stack incompatible shapes simply to reduce the piece count. Dense parts can crush lighter cartons, and an uneven upper surface can make the whole load non-stackable. If components need to remain separate for safe lifting or receiver identification, quote them as separate handling units and label each one against the packing list.
